Acima Launches new
biocide In Response
to Carbendazim Regulations
Acima has launched a new product line in response to the European Commission’s recently published 29th ATP (Adaptation to Technical Progress) of the Dangerous Substances Directive, which substantially limits paint and coatings containing carbendazim, a commonly used component of paint film fungicides. Acima has introduced a full product line of Rocima biocides composed of a mix of carbendazim-free and low-carbendazim formulations.
These products will fit the technical needs of European paint and coatings manufacturers, allowing them to formulate performing exterior coatings without the labeling and commercialization limitations imposed by the new regulation. The carbendazim-free product line developed for the long-term protection of exterior and interior coatings consists of Rocima 345, 371 N, 382 and 343. Rocima 363N is a low carbendazim formulation, which can be used alone or with the booster fungicide Rocima 343 for extra protection.
